Carolina is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a Master of Arts degree in Marital and Family Therapy from the School of Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. She has additional training in trauma focused therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Carolina believes in creating a safe environment for which to work through challenging circumstances. She wants to help you identify your strengths, to hear your story, and to encourage your hope for change including development of skills. She aims to be curious, nonjudgmental, person-centered, and creative.
Carolina has worked with children, teens, adults, groups, couples and families. She has worked in the contexts of community mental health, home-based services, online therapy, and residential substance use disorder treatment.

Carolina finds observing clients grow and get through tough times rewarding. She uses a combination of practices including person-centered therapy, family systems approaches, cognitive-behavioral techniques, DBT, trauma based therapy, and solution-focused therapy. She looks forward to working with you to restore a sense of safety after trauma, regulate emotions, tolerate distress, problem solve, improve relationships or make other changes in your life.
Jen received her Master's degree and an additional certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Cloud State University in 2004. She completed her internships working with adolescent and adult sex offenders in an outpatient setting as well as with adults recovering from traumatic brain injuries in an inpatient setting. She has been a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist since 2007.
She also works with adults, couples, and families. The focus of her therapy includes getting the family involved for the support of the children as well as to promote changes in the family system that will help continued progress once therapy has been completed.
Jen enjoys the challenges that her work presents, as well as the rewards it holds for everyone involved. She utilizes cognitive-behavioral techniques, client-centered approaches, as well as family systems approaches to ensure that she is able to meet the client's needs. Out of office referrals, to other service providers, are made as necessary to ensure the best possible outcome for each client.
